  • We probably spend more time preventing emotions rather than yelling.
  • We prevent the yelling by preventing the emotion of other people.
  • Trying to prevent an emotion in other people isn’t 100% effective.
  • Be intentional of why you’re preventing someone’s emotions.
  • If you like your reason, and you’re intentional about why you’re doing it, then go ahead. The key is intentional.
  • It can be exhausting to prevent someone else from having a ‘negative’ experience and ultimately we’re trying to prevent ourselves from experiencing a negative emotion.
