Calm people are angry too
Summary
- We could look calm on the outside, when we really have an anger problem (consistently anger).
- Breaking the anger-guilt cycle doesn’t look like you’re angry – you don’t yell or are physically violet.
- An anger problem can be masked by staying in guilt/shame.
- The anger sometimes comes out in explosive, rare episodes. Sometimes overreacting in certain situations.
- When we internalise anger it can become resentment, look like keeping score, holding grudges. We tend to have a negative viewpoint about the world.
- When we delay or procrastinate in our lives, it can also mask perpetual anger.
- We can bypass anger and go straight into guilt/shame.
